UFCW 951 Works with Governor's Office to Secure Child Care for Members

3/20/2020 3:00:00 AM

UFCW 951 continues to work to advocate for additional support services for our members facing this crisis on the front line.
We have worked with the Governor's office to secure an Executive Order to make child care available to our members who are essential to providing our communities with goods and services during this pandemic.

According to the administration this child care will be at low cost.  Exact prices on childcare will be dependent on where the member lives and what type of service they sign-up for.

Members may sign-up using this link: https://www.helpmegrow-mi.org/essential. In the occupation field they should write: "Grocery and essential supplies".

If a member is low-income they may qualify for a childcare subsidy which they can find here: https://newmibridges.michigan.gov/s/isd-landing-page?language=en_US.

Questions about the childcare subsidy can be found here: https://www.michigan.gov/mde/0,4615,7-140-63533_63534_72609---,00.html.

The Governor's Executive Order can be found here.
